When I was pregnant with Noah I didn’t know anything about cloth diapers or mama cloth or anything! But with this pregnancy I knew I wanted to try some cloth nursing pads! I unfortunately start leaking pretty early on in pregnancy and it only gets worse once I start nursing, so I was excited and nervous to try some cloth nursing pads! But once I found A Mommy Made It and checked out her cloth nursing pads, I was very excited to give them a try!

About the Designer:

I am Dory Heatwole of Harrisonburg VA. I’m happily married to my husband of 10 years. We have three busy boys, ages 8, 4, & 8 Months. I make cloth wipes & Washable Stay dry Nursing pads. I got into this because I needed them and couldn’t afford the prices! I’m inspired to provide a quality product at a reasonable price! I have been Sewing since I was 10, but I began the AMMI Venture about 2 years ago!

The Review:

I received two pairs of washable stay-dry nursing pads to review. These pads contain bamboo micro fleece to go against your skin, a triple flannel liner, and a layer of PUL on the bra side to contain the moisture.  They come in two sizes, 4 inches or 5 inches. They are soft and thin, yet big enough to keep you dry and comfortable! They are machine washable and you can dry them out on the line or in the dryer! I was really excited to try these, because like I said, I leak really early in my pregnancies. I tried them out the day after I received them! What I really like about them is they are large enough to cover me but they don’t go out past my bra or anything, so even if I wear a tank top you can’t see them.  I don’t leak much yet, but just from feeling these pads, I feel sure they will hold up and absorb well when I actually start nursing. They are super soft too and I can’t even feel them when I’m wearing them! Which is so nice compared to the itchy, uncomfortable disposable nursing pads.  I love that I can wash them in the washing machine too! That will save a lot of money! And at only $3 a set, it’s easy to get enough to use full time and not have to buy any disposable nursing pads! I am seriously in love with these nursing pads and once again I am completely converted to using cloth!
